Welcome to the Christopher and Dana Reeve Foundation Paralysis Resource Center (PRC)! We are here to serve you -- whether you're newly injured, living with paralysis, or are caring for a loved one, our goal is to provide you with the information you need to live a healthy life, make informed decisions, and better understand paralysis, spinal cord injury and other conditions. You are not alone. You can find great strength and comfort in sharing your experiences with others as well as finding the answers to your most important questions. The Paralysis Resource Center (PRC) can help you locate whatever it is you are looking for—from a support group in your area to a resource on a specific topic. You will also find links to websites, organizations and reference material. Within the PRC website you will find information on various conditions related to paralysis, and on many common areas of concern (bladder and bowel care, pain management, sexual health, skin care, spasticity, etc.) The PRC also offers detailed information on adaptive equipment and modifications that can make life easier (wheelchairs, seating and positioning systems, bath, kitchen and other home modifications, etc.) or more enjoyable for activities such as sports, travel and computer use. Look within the PRC to locate information on insurance and Medicare reimbursement, and other topics related to the "system" of health care financing. If you don’t find what you need here on the web site, you can always contact one of our Information Specialists -- experienced professionals with an expertise in paralysis and related health and lifestyle issues -- by email or by phone (1-800-539-7309). Or, you can set up a convenient time and a PRC Information Specialist will call you. We hope that you find this to be a useful experience, and that you'll tell your friends to come visit the PRC as well. Thanks for visiting. Good luck! And, remember, you’re not alone.
Best wishes, The PRC Staff |
